Find your sacred in the simple

Welcome to Coffee & Jesus Daily, a space where beauty and faith intertwine. Whether you're enjoying your morning brew or seeking a moment of peace, we invite you to slow down and rediscover the sacred in the everyday. Start your day grounded in God's Word with us.

Daily devotion

Welcome to Coffee With Jesus Daily — a quiet corner of the internet where faith meets slow living. Here at The Berry Burrow Cottage, I’m building a space shaped by Scripture, soft colors, mountain life, and the gentle rhythms of cottage‑core hospitality. Each morning, I share a Coffee & Jesus devotional designed to encourage your heart, deepen your walk with God, and remind you that His presence meets us in the simple, ordinary moments.

Pour a cup, settle in, and make yourself at home. You’re always welcome here.

Explore & Learn with Bible Studies

Hello sweet friends — Starting May 1st I will start a Spirit-led Bible study through The God You Need to Know by Margaret Feinberg. If your heart has been longing for deeper connection with God, quiet reflection, and meaningful conversation, this may be a beautiful fit.

This study invites us to: • Notice the Holy Spirit’s movement in our daily rhythms • Engage Scripture with intention and curiosity • Practice discernment through guided questions • Build habits that keep us in constant communion with God

You’ll need the book and study guide (which includes video access). Start with a warm mug of your favorite cuppa of whatever you enjoy first thing in the morning, open Bibles, honest conversation, and space for God to move.

If this stirs something in you, let me know. I’d love to walk this journey with you.

Welcome Meditation: A Table of Grace

Scripture: “Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters.” — Romans 14:1

Welcome to Coffee with Jesus Daily As this new space opens its doors, my heart keeps returning to this verse. Romans 14:1 is a gentle reminder that God’s table is wide, His welcome is warm, and His grace is big enough for every season of faith — strong, shaky, growing, or beginning.

Here, you don’t have to have it all figured out.
You don’t have to show up polished or perfect.
You don’t have to believe exactly the way someone else does. This is a place for peace, not pressure.
For encouragement, not argument.
For fellowship, not comparison.

My prayer is that Coffee with Jesus Daily becomes a cozy corner where you can breathe deeply, sip something warm, and meet with Jesus in the quiet moments of your day.

Meditation
When Paul wrote these words, he was speaking to a community learning how to walk together despite differences. His message still matters today: welcome one another with grace. We all come to Jesus carrying different stories — some heavy, some hopeful, some still unfolding. And yet, He receives us with patience and love. As we begin this journey together, let this be our posture too.

Who might God be inviting you to welcome today? Where might He be asking you to choose peace over debate?

Prayer
Lord, thank You for welcoming us with open arms. Teach us to extend that same grace to others — gently, humbly, and without judgment.
Let this space be a reflection of Your heart: peaceful, warm, and full of truth.
Meet us here each day and shape us into people who love like You.
Amen.

Closing Thought

Y
ou belong here. Your story matters.
And Jesus delights to meet you — right where you are, one cup, one prayer, one quiet moment at a time.

Mountain living

Discover real-life lessons and stories from our journey in the mountains.

Living on the Mountain: Our New Beginning

We traded lake life for mountain life — not because we were leaving something behind, but because we were reaching for something simpler, quieter, and more rooted. We wanted more land, more room to grow, and a lifestyle that felt steady and intentional. A place where we could build, plant, dream, and breathe.

We’re still in the beginning stages of this new chapter, but the foundation is taking shape. Our 720 sq ft cottage is complete, and we’re officially moved in. The barn is built. The land is slowly becoming familiar — the kind of familiar that comes from walking it every day, praying over it, and imagining what it will become.

And this spring, we planted our first round of berry bushes and apple trees — the very first living pieces of what will one day be the Berry Burrow orchard. More will be planted in the fall, but for now, these first roots in the ground feel like a promise. A beginning. A quiet “yes” from the land itself.

There’s still so much ahead of us.
The main house, the bakery, and the greenhouse are all waiting their turn. If all goes well, we hope to see them come to life over the next year to year and a half. It’s a long road, but a beautiful one.

For now, we’re learning the rhythms of mountain living — the quiet mornings, the wide skies, the work that keeps our hands busy and our hearts grateful. This is just the beginning, but it already feels like home.

About Coffee & Jesus Daily

Hello, dear friend. I’m Cheryl — artist, baker, storyteller, and follower of Jesus. Coffee With Jesus Daily was born from the quiet moments when the world is still, the coffee is warm, and the Holy Spirit whispers truth into the soft spaces of the heart. Those moments changed me, and I felt called to share them — to create a place where others could slow down, breathe, and meet with God in the gentle rhythms of daily life.

My home, the Berry Burrow Cottage, is slowly coming to life the mountain — a place where creativity, hospitality, and faith intertwine. One day soon, it will also hold a small bakery filled with rustic breads, seasonal pastries, and the kind of warmth that makes strangers feel like family.

Until then, this website is my open door. A cozy seat at my table. A candlelit corner where Scripture meets story, and where ordinary mornings become sacred.

I’m so grateful you’re here. May this space bless you, steady you, and remind you that Jesus meets us right where we are — one cup, one prayer, one quiet moment at a time.

"When the Poppy Preaches”

A Coffee & Jesus Reflection

The first time I noticed a poppy blooming on the mountainside, it startled me.
Not because it was loud or showy — but because it was brave.

There it stood, a single red bloom rising from soil that had been disturbed, pressed down, and broken open by winter’s long weight. The ground around it still looked tired. The wind was still cool. Nothing about the moment said, “this is the right time to bloom.”
And yet, the poppy did.

As I stood there with my morning coffee warming my hands, I felt the Lord whisper something I didn’t expect:

“My resurrection hope grows in the places you thought were too broken to ever hold beauty again.”

Poppies have a way of preaching without words.
They bloom in battlefields.
They rise in places where the earth has been wounded.
They appear after storms, fires, and upheaval.
They are God’s quiet reminder that He brings life out of the very soil that once held sorrow.

Scripture tells us that “the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever” (Isaiah 40:8).
And yet, the poppy, fragile as it is, seems to stand there as if to say:

“Even what is fleeting can carry eternal truth.”

Its petals are thin, but its message is strong.
Its life is short, but its symbolism is deep.
Its color is bright, but its roots reach into the dark places where God does His quietest work.

The poppy reminds me of Jesus’ words in John 11:25:
“I am the resurrection and the life.”
Not just resurrection someday but resurrection here, in the middle of our ordinary mornings, our weary hearts, our unfinished stories.

Maybe that’s why the poppy feels like a Coffee & Jesus flower.
It blooms like a small sermon.
It rises like a prayer.
It stands like a testimony.

And perhaps today, the Lord is inviting you, inviting us...to notice the poppies He has planted in our own lives:

  • The healing that began quietly
  • The hope that returned unexpectedly
  • The strength that grew in a place we thought was barren
  • The joy that surprised us after a long night

Poppies don’t bloom because the world is perfect.
They bloom because God is faithful.

So, as you sip your coffee today, let the poppy remind you:

Your story is not over.
Your soil is not too broken.
Your heart is not too late to bloom.
And the God who brings life from wounded ground is bringing life in you, too.

Amen.
